Meet the Authors

Jaymi Anderson: I am a speaker, writer, wife, and mom.  I stay sane by hiking, biking, and spending time with my friends. Transitioning from my life as a teacher to one as a stay-at-home mom in 2002 caused me to reevaluate my identity and question what it means to live a life of purpose.  I feel led share my experiences with others by talking to women’s groups and contributing to blogs like this one. You can find out more about me and my speaking ministry on my website.

Claire Boyles: I am a writer, a mom, a teacher, and a former farmer. I love coffee, kale, and books.  I started my first blog, Little Farm. Growing. in 2008, when we bought a small vegetable and flower farm. In 2013, we sold the farm. Now, I blog about our transition back to town at Barnyard to Backyard.

Laura Case: I live in Estes Park and am a stay at home mother and an Estes Park School District school board member. I have three beautiful daughters, LeEllen (19), Neva (6) and Vittoria (3). In my former life, before children, I was a teacher. I am a free spirit who delights in anything ridiculous. I laugh frequently and loudly and sometimes my own spice is too much for me to even handle. With that said, I am married to a beautiful saint of a man. My life is a delightful tornado of kids, friends, cats, dogs, lots of dog hair, art and music which my type B personality allows me to fully enjoy. I am an outgoing introvert and find rejuvenation while spending time in the woods and in our yurt. I am training in the martial art of Hojutsu and am a Reiki master practitioner.

Holly Collingwood:  I am a stay at home mom by day and a freelance writer by night. My kiddos are 3, 5 and 7 and full of energy and crazy loudness. I love good jeans, snow forts, wildflower hikes, playing barefoot in the grass, jellybeans and homemade guacamole. Grumpy people, dogs and saliva are on an entirely different list. Read more about my adventures at 100 Days of Summer. Or hire me at You can also find me on Twitter or Facebook.

Shannon Darnell: My friend Holly asked me to write for Rocky Parenting. At this point it is unclear whether she thought I may have something thoughtful to say or she has witnessed enough of our life to know that it will offer some good material! I am a stay at home mom with two young boys and a BFF husband of 13 years. We used to call the Rockies our home and still cannot shake our ever present homesick feeling. Today our life happens in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Marcus Forman: I am a Dad, a husband, a Soldier and proud of all three, and in that order. I have three daughters and can therefore do entire loads of pink laundry as well as distinguish between the colors “coral” and “orange”. Occasionally I run marathons and ultra-marathons and will not be available for questions, comments, issues and concerns during San Francisco 49ers games.

Erin Hunt: I am a teacher and librarian who took a leap of faith four years ago and began to homeschool my three kids, one of whom is high functioning autistic. We lovingly call our homeschool School of HuntChaos and regularly make mischief and call it learning. I also work part time on a grant funded through the Library of Congress called Teaching with Primary Sources. I make it through my crazy day with lots of lattes and random dance parties.

Melissa Jensen: I am a law student, foodie, agent of change, and newly minted mom as of December 2013. My husband Tom and I have had a lot of adventures in the 12 years we have been together, and parenthood is sure to top them all. In my pseudo-spare time, I enjoy cooking, eating, reading, being outside, and learning new ways to make coffee.

Caiti Mondragon:  I am blessed to be married to my best friend for almost 10 years. I am a stay at home mom to my 3 beautiful babies (now 9, 7 and 2). I have always been a writer at heart, and I am so thrilled to share my stories. This is me. Enjoy more of my writing at

Nicky Quinby: I am a 29-year-old reader and sometimes writer. I have an English degree, a writing minor, and a slew of education classes. For the last few years I have focused on parenting, blogging, writing, and volunteering at church and now at the local Anythink Library and area elementary schools. I have two blogs–boyqandgirlq and Your Human Guinea Pig, as well as a very active Good Reads and Facebook profile. My friends and I are bibliophiles and we share recommendations daily.

Jenn Seedorf: I am a working mother trying to achieve the perfect life balance and figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I am married to a wonderful man and we have a crazy, beautiful little family with our 1-year old daughter, our two dogs and our two cats. I love ice cream, good books, music, “Friends,” the Denver Broncos, and naptime. Writing has become a passion. Welcome to my thoughts on parenting, life, and everything in between.

Kayenta Williams: I am a writer, mom, teacher, and direct-sales consultant.  I spend my days raising and surviving two crazy little boys, six-year-old N and three-year-old K.  When they finally fall asleep after endless exuberant hours of play, I blog in hopes that other stay-at-home moms can find something to relate to in my stories of imperfect mothering.  I love baking and reading, and I abhor picking up Legos.  Oh, the Legos.  You can read more about my family’s adventures at

Autumn Leopold: I am a 40 year old organizer and homemaker.  I am married to an amazing husband who runs marathons and such and tries to inspire me to do so (to no avail). One sweet smart and precocious little boy who’s in kindergarten! Two old fat cats and one puppy we adopted from Weld Co. Humane Society in May 2014.  I work from home as a blog writer and creator for I am also a Professional Organizer for Windfall Organizing, As for my interests, I love homemaking, writing, photography, going up to the mountains, riding bikes, snow skiing, and hiking with my family.
